2024 TSM Meeting

Dates: February 22, 2024 9:00 am
Location: San Marcos, TX

The 58th annual meeting will be hosted by Texas State University in San Marcos from February 22nd – 24th, 2024. Early registration and membership will be $40 for students, $140 for regular members, and $330 for corporate members (plus 3% processing fee).

Application for travel support for students will be available during registration. Presenting students (poster or oral presentation) who live more than 50 miles away from the venue will receive $200, while student who live within 50 miles of the venue will receive $50. Late registration fee plus membership will be $150 for regular members and $50 for students.

Workshops – February 22nd, 2024

Workshops (TBD) will be hosted by Texas State University, Shared Research Operations, at the Roy F. Mitte (RFM) and Supple Science Buildings

1. Tip-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (Horiba)
2. Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy (Evident – formerly Olympus)
3. XPS (Thermo Fisher)
4. STEM-EDS (Thermo Fisher)

Each workshop is offered twice (9-12 a.m. and 1-4 p.m.). Please register by sending choices of workshops and time to: Dr. Joyce Anderson (jha39@txstate.edu). Spaces are limited, please, register early!

Meeting – February 23rd & 24th

Poster and platform presentations and a vendor fair will be held in the LBJ Student Center Ballroom (February 23rd) and the Roy F. Mitte Building (February 24th) at Texas State University.

Social Reception – February 22nd, 2024

There will be a reception on Thursday evening the 22nd of February 2024 at 7p.m. at “Industry” (110 E Martin Luther King Dr #126, San Marcos, TX 78666) which is located in downtown San Marcos. This will be a great opportunity to meet and talk to colleagues, friends, and vendors and to enjoy good food.

Suggested Hotels

Please book your hotel early as rooms are limited and as there is no block room rate for hotel rooms. The following hotels are within 5 miles of the venue:

PLATFORM PRESENTATIONS will be scheduled for 12 minutes (students) or 17 minutes (all others), with an additional 3 minutes for questions on either Friday or Saturday morning. Please, prepare your presentation using PowerPoint and bring it to the meeting on either a flash drive or on your own PC.
